Forensic Handwriting Examination
Stehlík, Matěj ; Konrád, Zdeněk (advisor) ; Krupička, Jiří (referee)
Forensic Handwriting Examination The aim of this thesis is to introduce the Forensic handwriting examination as one of the disciplines of Forensic identification, to describe its methods and procedures, and to demonstrate them on specific examples. The aim of the practical part of the thesis is to apply the findings described in the theoretical part of the thesis to the handwriting examination carried out by the author of the thesis, to experimentally verify some of hypotheses presented in the thesis, such as the influence of various factors on the handwriting of an individual, and to examine the most frequent methods of deliberate alteration of one's handwriting. The first chapter of the thesis is focused on the definition of the term "Handwriting Examination", on a brief examination of the history of this branch of forensic science, and on the analysis of its relations to other fields of forensic science, especially to the graphology. The following chapter describes the procedure of establishing one's handwriting habits, the influence of the Czech handwriting system taught to children, and some of the internal and external factors which influence one's handwriting. The third chapter examines the major subject matters of handwriting examination, describes several specific attributes of letters,...
Biometrie a její využití v kriminalistice
VÁCHOVÁ, Ivona
The bachelor thesis is focused on submitting actual and understandable information about biometrics. The aim is to acquaint the public with the possibilities of biometric identification, their technologies and utilization in forensic science. The thesis explains important terms, history of the branch and division of biometric characteristics and identification. The thesis also introduces biometric systems, their criteria and errors. The main part consists of processing of selected identification methods. At the end there is also a possibility of using biometric characteristics in identity papers and forensic science.
Trasology and its use in Crime Investigation
Ulmann, Ondřej ; Konrád, Zdeněk (advisor) ; Krupička, Jiří (referee)
Trasology and its use in crime investigation Abstract Title of this thesis is Trasology and its use in crime investigation. This thesis focus on trasology which is discipline of forensic science examining foot traces, traces of other body parts and traces of vehicles. The objective of this thesis is to provide its reader basic summary about this discipline of forensic science and methods used in this discipline especialy aplication of biomechanincs in trasology and height estimation from foot prints dimensions. This thesis is divided into eleven chapters. First chapter after introducing chapter is chapter about history of trasology, folowing chapters describe individual groups of trasological traces. Folowing chapters focus on methods of detecting and capturing trasological traces. Chapters number seven and eight are about methods of forensic examination of trasological traces. Main part of this thesis consist of chapter about aplication of biomechanics in trasology and experimental chapter presenting results of comparison of methods of height estimetion from foot prints dimensions. Biomechanics is used in trasology mainly for estimation of height from traces of various body parts. In the experimental chapter you can find comparison of six methods of height estimation from length and breadth of foot traces....

The Determination of Modus Operandi
Vraníková, Monika ; Musil, Jan (advisor) ; Krupička, Jiří (referee)
The purpose of my thesis is to provide description of modus operandi. Specifically it is focusing on determining factors and their influence on modus operandi. It is divided into seven main chapters. Theory is supplemented with examples of forensic practice. The first chapter is providing the description of term modus operandi. This section is also including the part dealing with terminology. Following chapter is about components of modus operandi. The components are divided by their character and their degree of complexity. The third section is dealing with determination in general. The thesis continues by two chapters describing the determinants of modus operandi. The first section is analysis of objective determinants and the following part is about subjective factors. Section of determination is devoted an immense part of my thesis. The sixth chapter is describing mechanisms of formation modus operandi. Conclusion is dealing with forensic significance of modus operandi, concretely the significance for creation of investigative versions, forensic record "modus operandi systém", forensic identification and also for forensic prevention.
Stiffness characteristic of front part of the vehicle
Coufal, Tomáš
So far, in the field of forensic engineering was used to describe the stiffness of the front part of the vehicle only central stiffness characteristic that can be used with sufficient accuracy for frontal crash with a full overlap. However, if the vehicle crashes with only partial overlap so can be central stiffness characteristic limitations in the accuracy of the calculation of the deformation energy. The present article deals with the stiffness of the each parts of the front part of the vehicle for their use in forensic expert practice. Stiffness characteristics was processed for each part of the vehicle, with which you can calculate the exact deformation energy for a specific front part of the vehicle which was damaged in a frontal collision.
Flammability of materials and forensic approach in fire investigation
Balog, Karol ; Martinka, Jozef ; Chrebet, Tomáš ; Hrušovský, Ivan ; Hirle, Siegfried
The paper deals with the application of new methods for determining the flammability of materials by fire investigation. A common cause of fires is ignition or spontaneuos ignition. Fires of liquid and solid materials have different mechanisms of initiation. Standardized laboratory tests provided flammability parameters may lead to misinterpretation initiation of fire. Use of modern methods such as conical calorimeter, safety calorimeter, thermal analysis and fire modelling are used to simulate conditions close to the fire. In terms of forensic approach using the selected methods to determined conditions for the initiation of solid materials fire.
Stalking in the world of electronic media
Smolík, Viktor ; Sigmund, Tomáš (advisor) ; Bláha, Václav (referee)
Stalking is extremely complicated phenomenon, which exists in our society. Despite the fact it's the subject of psychology studies for a long time, the knowledge about this phenomenon has spread to the public in the last few decades. This circulation was supported by the growth of electronic media, because in connection with this penetration it becomes easier a faster than before and stalkers gained new instruments to their hands. Victims were becoming constantly more vulnerable and society became fully conscious of the need of criminalization of this phenomenon. Stalking is a multidisciplinary phenomenon, which pervades many branches of research. Despite the knowledge about this phenomenon in public, information science and information management deal with stalking minimally. Therefore this thesis analyses stalking as a multidisciplinary phenomenon from the view not only informatics, but also from the view of other sciences. This thesis points to individual aspects of attacks through electronic media, to simplicity of their use and to the methods of defence against them. It points to the need of protection of personal data not only in a private life, but also in a professional life.
